Pierced ears, haircuts and a butterfly (in 2 weeks!)

Our BIG girl woke up yesterday morning and asked if she could get her ears pierced.
Now this wouldn't have been that big a deal if her younger sister hadn't
gotten her ears pierced first a few months ago.

The fact that she wasn't pressured to follow her sister then and that she actually waited until SHE was ready tells us how big she really is!

There was another girl watching our BIG girl get her ears pierced at the mall.  When our BIG girl was finished she turned to the girl watching and gave her a big 'thumbs up!'

Both of our girls got new 'back to school' haircuts the other day as well.

This is the chrysalis of a Monarch Butterfly.  It appears to be in a resting stage, doing nothing, but things are very busy inside the green outer covering that we can see.  In there the caterpillar parts are changing into butterfly parts and we all know that caterpillars look and act very differently from butterflies, so lots of major changes are happening in there.
It takes about two weeks before the fully formed butterfly is ready to emerge from the chrysalis

I like how the earrings match the glasses. Way to go Caitlyn!
