Fun Party at Mrs Manders' House

Last weekend we were all invited to Mrs. Manders' House for her Annual JK/SK Party.

Mrs. Manders was Caitlyn's teacher at daycare and I think that she will always be thought of as one of the best teachers Caitlyn has ever had.

Caitlyn had a great time, especially when Max came to the party with his Mom & Dad!

Even though they go to different schools now, they still see each other

from time to time at the Y.

Dear Santa:

"All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth"

Horseback Riding

A couple of years ago while we were in Wisconsin Dells, Amanda and I took the girls horseback riding. We "doubled-up"; Caitlyn sat in front of Amanda and Hannah sat in front of me. Now that I think of it, allowing two adults who have never gone horseback riding go while holding onto a child was very silly and dangerous. Either horse could have been spooked and since we only had one hand on the horse reins, we could have either been thrown from the horse or dropped whichever child we were holding. According to the folks at the Horseshoe J Dude Ranch, "doubling-up" especially with a child is "against the law" in Canada.

Since that Wisconsin trip, Amanda has kept telling me how she would love to go horseback riding again. Well, yesterday (Saturday) morning while she was still in bed I did some Googling and made a phone call. I found that the Horseshoe J Dude Ranch was only about 20 minutes away from our house. The girls and I went to "wake up Mommy" and I told her that I was going to take her out and it was going to be a surprise. Right away Amanda asks "Are you taking me to that Dude Ranch that's around here?"

Apparently only the evening before, Amanda was Googling too!

I guess great minds do think alike!

We called up Gramma & Grampa to see if they were busy, dropped off the girls and then went off on our own. Going out on our own usually involves shopping for clothing for the girls or grocery shopping. An afternoon date is definitely not that common for us!

The Horseshoe J Dude Ranch has 50-100 horses, each named of course.

This is Chester - the horse Amanda rode.

This is Captain - My horse.

We had a lot of fun and both of us were walking a bit funny back to the car.

I promised that I would download pictures of our new gazebo/awning with our deck extension.

Here are two pictures:

For some reason, both girls thought that it was COLD out tonight.

Our 'Baby Girl' Turns Four

Recently, we had a few guys from Yard F-X come and extend our deck and add a railing to the front and side of our existing deck. The day after this picture was taken, I installed a canvas gazebo that is now attached to what was the existing deck. Now I can barbecue in the rain and we can actually sit outside during a light drizzle without worrying about getting wet.

Here is Hannah all set to go to the beach!

Even after we re-applied sunscreen a couple times, Caitlyn still managed to get sun burnt.

I think she is finishing off a carrot here.

Hannah enjoying some juice!

(It looks like Caitlyn is still holding onto the same carrot in the background!)

I need to rethink my nickname for Hannah. My 'Wee-Baby-Small Girl' isn't accurate anymore!
How did she get to be so big so quickly. I can't believe that she is now four years old!

Here is Dotsy the Clown arriving for Hannah's birthday!

Hannah's birthday guests.

First, Dotsy did a magic show- Hannah was her helper.

Then, Dotsy made balloon hats, or animals, or wings for all the kids.

Then, Dotsy painted the kids faces. Hannah was a Rainbow Puppy.

Even Batman was invited to the birthday party.

This is why my girls won't be wearing makeup until they are at least 14!

They look way to old!! Even with a Purple Butterfly or their face and a missing tooth!!

(The going rate from the Tooth fairy is $2.00 by the way.

Hopefully, they don't come out with a $5 coin any time soon!)

Happy Caitlyn - Butterfly face painting AND Butterfly balloon wings!!

Everybody smiling except for Caitlyn. Her butterfly wings got caught on a chair that ended up falling on her toes- OUCH!!

Happy Birthday Hannah! Thank You Dotsy for joining us!

We had pizza for birthday party dinner.

Present opening was VERY busy!

Thanks to everybody for their gifts!

Hannah's choice for a cake- Hello Kitty!

Everyone tired and worn out from the party!

Fun (on a different day) at the splash pad.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH!
